WHERE DID THE IDEA OF THIS PLAY CAME FROM?
AYESHA MOHSIN : I remember I was sitting in our T.V lounge watching T.V with my family in Pakistan. I was a young teenager waiting for my turn to get the remote and put something fun on when one of my family members ( I don’t exactly remember who) switched to a news channel…. I was really pissed about that!,
Suddenly the mood of the whole room changed, the news showed a scene of a bombing in some rural area, my father was a very sensitive man and he quickly changed the channel knowing that his young daughters are in the room. No one spoke for a few minutes and then as the channels kept of changing in order to find something pleasent on T.V, I caught an odd glimpse on the changing screen. I saw shoes scattered around on the concrete which filled our Television frame, that is where the idea came from !.
DID YOU WRITE THE PLAY THE SAME DAY ?
AYESHA MOHSIN : Yes !.
DO YOU WATCH NEWS REGULARLY NOW ?
AYESHA MOHSIN : I try not to but you really can’t escape it I guess.
